Schrödinger’s Black Box

A public lecture at Köln International School of Design about the black boxes of interactive computing titled Schrödinger’s Black Box.

What do we find if we open a black box? This lecture looks at computers as black boxes and asks what is inside of them, revealing at least two protagonists. Tracing their role in interacting with computers, the lecture discusses questions of agency, automation, artificial intelligence and our principal inability to design interaction.
