On Tuesday, April 17th, Ted Nelson will visit SFAI to talk about “Life, The Universe and Everything.” The talk is free and open to the public.
Ted Nelson is a pioneer of information and computer technology, who coined the terms hypermedia, hypertext, and virtuality. Already during the 1970s he argued against centralized computer systems and for the liberation of computers from the priesthood of computer experts. The subtitle of his classic book “Computer Lib/Dream Machines” today is more timely than ever: “You can and must understand computers now.”
