Expanded Animation, Summer School in Vilnius

At the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Lithuanian Song Festival, KISD students are showing audiovisual works in the Visitor Center of the Lithuanian Parliament in Vilnius.

The works deal with the cultural heritage of the song festival “Dainų šventė”, which is listed by UNESCO as an intangible world cultural heritage. In the works, new animation technologies such as 3D reconstruction, generative graphics and generative ‘artificial intelligence’ are used.

As part of an international summer school at Vilnius Technical University, KISD students are working in international teams together with students from the University of Porto, Riga Technical University, the University of Greifswald and the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. The summer school is supported by Erasmus+.

The exhibition in the Visitor Centre of the Lithuanian Parliament is part of the official accompanying program of the festival and is open from June 28 to July 6, 2024.
