Starting in January 2026, TH Köln establishes a new collaborative research focus on “Cultural Memory in Crisis.” The project aims to explore cultural memory through innovative approaches, incorporating transdisciplinary crisis studies and participation-oriented research methods to advance the field of memory studies. It is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) as part of its “Research Impulse” programme. As a PI, I am part of the project’s Research Unit III: Digital Cultural Memory, where I will study the impact of AI on cultural memory in collaboration with researchers from Social Science and Architecture.
